Worship at Jackson Baptist Church
When you come to a worship service at JBC you’ll see
that the main goal of each service is to glorify the God
who loved us so much that He sent His one and only Son to
die in our place. We do this in a variety of ways.
Worship through Music- The JBC worship team (consisting
of piano, keyboard, drums, guitar, bass and up to eight singers)
leads the congregation in a wide variety of hymns and choruses
that appeal to people of all ages. The words to the songs
are projected onto two large screens by means
of a video projector. The slides also incorporate a variety
of picturesque scenes taken directly from creation, pictures
that help us to focus in even more intensely on the Creator
Himself.
We also worship through Special Music as people of all ages
use their musical gifts to glorify God. And on the third
Sunday of each month, the JBC choir presents a special piece
that uplifts the name of the Lord in 4-part harmony.
Worship Through Giving- As God’s people we support
the work of the ministry both in Jackson and around the world
through our giving. This provides the congregation with an
opportunity to not only be a part of the Lord’s work,
but to regularly focus on the countless blessings, both physical
and spiritual, that we enjoy as His people. However, visitors
are not asked nor expected to participate in the offering
since the ministry of the church is the responsibility of
the members and regular attenders. That’s also why
we don’t have fund raisers of any kind. We believe
that God’s work, done God’s way will never lack
God’s provision.
Worship Through Fellowship- After we’ve worshiped
the Lord through our singing and our giving we take a couple
minutes to get to know the people around us. We say good
morning to our old friends and introduce ourselves to our
new guests. However, no one is singled out in anyway, so
if you choose to remain anonymous while you check out JBC,
that’s fine. However, there’s pretty good chance
that someone will introduce themselves to you!
Worship
Through the Word- At JBC we believe that the Bible
is central to any worship service since it is the very Word
of God. As such the messages address a wide range of topics
from a biblical standpoint and in a way that is easy to listen
to, down-to-earth and practical. You can check out last week’s
sermon and a number of other sermons by clicking here.
