Knowing GOD
Jesus' message was not for a select few, but for all persons. He said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me" (John 14:6). Those who want to know God can know Him in and through Jesus Christ. The words of the Bible still reveal the truth that so many still seek, and that truth is still simple: Our sin keeps us from God. "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). The payment for our sin is death. "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23). Christ died to pay for our sins and then rose again from the grave. "Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures . . . He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures" (1 Corinthians 15:3,4). We are forgiven and given eternal life when we trust in Christ as the one who paid the penalty for our sins. "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him" (John 3:36).
Only Jesus Christ can open the way to God for us. He did, and now He invites you to trust in Him. Have you? Will you?
